How many people can go on the ride? ?
The boat holds 11 and if there are more than 11 in your party we can just “back to back” the rides – which means one group can just hang out for the 25 minutes or so in between. We have picnic benches outside for you to relax.
What is the age minimum for children? ?
We really don’t have a minimum age or weight requirement – the boat ride is safe for everyone in the family (even children as young as 2 or 3) – but it depends on the child (a kid age 5 can be scared of everything and a 2-year-old can be “devil-may-care.”
What happens if it’s raining?
Heavy rain or lightning will most likely delay the ride (rather than cancel) because the weather changes constantly. Check with us directly about conditions.
What is your cancellation policy?
For both the rides and the combination trips, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or you will be charged.
What’s required for a reservation?
Name, phone number, number of people and credit card # to guarantee the reservation. Nothing is charged unless you “no show” or do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
What exactly are the jet boat rides??
We take you from our office to Almond Boat Park (just 5 minutes away) where you’ll board our jet boat. The boat is driven by a professional driver, a certified Captain, who will buzz the shoreline and do “spins.” So when the driver indicates he is going to do a spin, everyone holds onto the handrails and the boat spins – back to front. the driver will do a first spin for a series of photos and then you’re on the water about 30 minutes. The total time to allow for the ride is one hour. You’ll get splashed not soaking wet.
Will I fall out of the boat?
No, you will not fall out of the boat. You will wear a life jacket.
Do I need to make reservations?
Reservations are highly advisable as the boat holds 11 and can fill up rapidly with walk-ins. We can reserve the date and time you want to ride and then you can call to change

How long is the ride?
The total time to allow for just the jet boat ride is one hour. You are on the water for about 40 minutes.
Can I take my camera? Video camera?
Yes, you can take your cameras – you will have a life jacket to shield it from the water spray.
What else is there to do in the area?
Whitewater rafting is popular. The NOC – Nantahala Outdoor Center is 4.2 miles from our office (stay left on Hyw19/74 for 4.2 miles). There are two restaurants there for breakfast and lunch (River’s End and Slow Joe’s Café. Relia’s Garden is a good restaurant there for dinner. Horseback riding is available at the Nantahala Village Resort and Spa (1 mile away). Bryson City has shops, restaurants, the train museum, etc. Deep Creek Campground is outside Bryson City – popular for tubing and hiking, seeing waterfalls, etc. Take Exit 67 off Hwy 74 and follow the brown Deep Creek Campground signs you’ll see in downtown
What if I don’t know how to swim?
You do not have to know how to swim. You will not fall out of the boat.
Is it safe for pregnant women?
Generally, yes – up to 6 months. But you must decide if it is safe for you.
Will I get motion sickness on the jet boat ride?
It is generally NOT a motion sickness type of ride. If you are apprehensive at all, after the first spin that the boat does for the digital photos – you can tell the driver you want to get off and we will take you back to the office and give you your money back.
Where do we come for the jet boat ride?
You come to our office – we are located on Hwy 74 – west of Bryson City at mile marker 59. We take you from our office to Almond Boat Park (just 5 minutes away) where you’ll board our jet boat.
What can people do that aren’t taking the ride?
Offer to them the ride on the bus to and from lake or they can sit in the office or shade outside. They may want to take a swim at the finger area of the lake.

What about sunglasses/hats?
Sunglasses are a great idea, hats tend to blow off (unless turned back to front)
